When you create a list, it can be created in two unsubscribe models
When Single Opt-out is selected, anyone who opens the unsubscribe links automatically gets unsubscribed from your list.
What this means is, if Gmail or any email provider is crawling all the links in your emails, users will get unsubscribed.
To avoid this problem, we've Double Opt-out.
In Double Opt-out, when the unsubscribe link is clicked, customers are asked to confirm the unsubscribe again. This prevents bots and automatic crawls from unsubscribing the user.
By the way, it not only prevents bot unsubscribes. Sometimes, users end up accidentally clicking the unsubscribes link. This approach also avoids that.
